CODA Services

Kelly is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult) and is passionate about providing services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.

We believe everyone can and should be learning and using Auslan (Australian Sign Language). We want to honour the importance Auslan has in the lives of children, deaf, hard of hearing and non-verbal people, living in our community.

Growing up in a household with Deaf parents Kelly learnt Auslan as her first language. She often recalls having to go to speech therapy to correct her english and not speaking until the age of 5 as she wanted to be just like her Mum and Dad.

You would often see her signing songs in the supermarket to her mum or advocating for her mum at government departments at the age of 10! This has made her passion of including the Deaf and HoH community an important task for her.

Kelly is not a qualified interpreter (yet) but is native to Auslan as her first language.
